Richard is a Managing Director of Quantera Global and has more than 25 years of experience in international corporation tax and transfer pricing.
His experience includes acting as competent authority in bilateral and multilateral APAs and Mutual Agreement Procedures, design, plan, implement and defend complex transfer pricing structures, taking the lead in transfer pricing controversy cases, dispute resolution cases and audits, as well as setting up tax and transfer pricing control frameworks.
As an industry leader, Richard regularly speaks about global strategic transfer pricing risk management and transfer pricing dispute resolution. He participates in the OECDs task force on Tax and Development and lectures Transfer Pricing at the International LLM Program of Leiden University. Before joining Quantera Global, Richard was a partner at a transfer pricing boutique firm, senior Director of the transfer pricing team of a Big 4 firm in The Netherlands and head of the APA team of the Dutch Tax Authorities (DTA). He also acted as Competent Authority for the Dutch Ministry of Finance and was a key member of the Coordination Group on Transfer Pricing of the DTA. Richard gained substantial experience in all forms of transfer pricing dispute resolution, dealing with APAs, Mutual Agreement Procedures and Tax Audits both from a government and from a business perspective.
Richard holds a degree in Tax Law from the Tilburg University as well a bachelor of Economics in Business Administration
